How to sideload ebook files to your Kindle, Nook, iPad, or iPhone

Fig. 1 — Scroll to the bottom of the Apps window and look for "File Sharing." Click on the Kindle app to open the Kindle Downloads Window. The "Add" button at the bottom will allow you to add books to your device.

For iPad & iPhone:

For .mobi (Kindle) files —

  1. Plug your iDevice into your computer with the USB cable.
  2. Open iTunes and click on the link to your iPad or iPhone
  3. Click on the "Apps" button at the top of the screen.
  4. Scroll down and you should see the Kindle App listed under the File Sharing heading.
  5. Under the Kindle Documents, you will see an "Add" button. Click and add the .mobi file.

This will keep all of your .mobi files saved on the Kindle App under "Documents."
